Eyes of a child

An idea that I often reinforce in my courses is to not forget to look at the world with the eyes of a child. This does not mean we are childish, but childlike and childlike is sacred as all the religions of the world say. Even as adults we have access to this sacred part. This sometimes scares off the engineers in my courses—"What? What is she saying? She can’t be serious. I came to this course to learn, not play around."
Why is it we have that resistance to an absolute treasure? How destructive could it be if for, say, five minutes we let go of our adult judgments and assumptions and let ourselves view the situation differently, with nothing obstructing our view? Listen to the children around you and you’ll see they’ve got their “Martian” (Transactional Analysis) turned on automatically.
